The CP210x USB to UART Bridge Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers are required for device operation as a Virtual COM Port to facilitate host communication with CP210x products. These devices can also interface to a host using the direct access driver.

The CP210x Manufacturing DLL and Runtime DLL have been updated and must be used with v 6.0 and later of the CP210x Windows VCP Driver. Application Note Software downloads affected are AN144SW.zip, AN205SW.zip and AN223SW.zip. If you are using a 5.x driver and need support you can download Legacy OS Software.

They don't have the specific driver in the package for the 3220, but there are ones for the 3100 and 3300 series and they work fine for me. I can print wirelessly to the 3220 from my ppc G5. Old news perhaps but and FYI.

I too bought this printer thinking it was supported on my PPC. So I installed the recommended gimp print drivers. Yes it took quite a while on OSX 5.8 but it installed. Ironically, it worked great for an old HP printer that had been misbehaving, but not on the Canon MG5420. So I'm using the HP and returned the Canon.

Xerox print drivers for the current macOS and Windows operating systems are available for select Xerox products. Choose a link below to view more information about the status of print drivers for these operating systems and your Xerox product.

And it could be that Acrobat/Reader is thinking it will be going on Letter SEF, then you turn on Tabloid in the driver later, so it prints reduced to Statement sized pages in the booklet. In which case you would need to set Acrobat/Reader to tabloid then do the bookleting.

When I try to print from Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or Pro using booklet option from Xerox function - Booklet layout, the printer not recognize postscript data generated by driver correctly, job is not printer and 116-703 error occured.

Moreover, Mitsubishi Electric Co. will not assume any responsibility for damage(including, but not limited to,lost profit or damage caused from special circumstances etc.) occurring during the use of this driver.

That said, there seems to have been an open source effort to compile Linux Intel drivers for Mac OS X as seen here. But note that the versions of Mac OS X referred to are Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5; nothing more modern.

Now, if you try binary drivers that would be like -- pardon my 'car' comparisons -- getting some materials for a car seat (according to specs for brand A) and trying to build (compile) the car seat for brand B. If the two car brands are compatible in area of car seats, than you would probably make it and it might actually work. But if you try to build race car seat from materials for 20 year old car, you're gonna have a rough ride, if not crash and injure yourself.

Installation meaning getting a driver for a piece of hardware loaded in to the kernel. OS X works by using so called kernel extensions (.kext files, or officially, 'packages' because that is what they are) to add functionality to the kernel. A driver is such an addition, and the functionality being the ability to drive a piece of hardware.

If you were to try to mix and match binary files (because that is what kernel extensions, modules and drivers are) it would not work because they are not compatible with the kernel and in some cases the processor that needs to execute the code. This compatibility with the kernel is where we arrive at the ABI and API part: those interfaces are like gas, water and electrical connections. Let's say Windows is gas, Linux is electricity and OS X is water. If you were to try and plug in a Linux electrical plug in to OS X's water faucet, you will not get anything to work. Water doesn't flow trough an electrical plug, and an electrical plug doesn't get any electricity from water.

If you were to try to load a linux driver (which is called a kernel module) in to the OS X kernel, by using kextload from a command line on OS X, it would simply tell you that it doesn't know what to do with the file you supplied. There is no forcing there, it simply cannot do anything with that file, just like you cannot force a light bulb to work from your water tap at home.

As a side note, if you have some USB devices that only supply Linux driver but no OS X driver, you may consider using the device by running Linux in a virtual machine (VirtualBox?) then forward the USB connection from your Mac to the Linux VM.

Note: Make sure that you select your installation path below based on printer compatibility and driver type. Click here to determine your printer's operating system compatibility. Mac OS 10.6.x and below users see Print & Fax, Mac OS X 10.7 and Mac OS X 10.8 users see Print & Scan, and Mac OS X 10.9 and later users see Printers and Scanners in the instructions below.

The published documentation incorrectly states that the default printer driver used when printing from a Microsoft Windows application server to a client printer attached to a UNIX, Linux, or Mac OS X client device is QMS 1060 Print System.

With this configuration, when users print from a Windows application server, they see a printer called _Default. This printer prints to the default printer on the client using a basic PostScript printer driver, "HP Color LaserJet 2800 Series PS".

Windows:You may be unable to print out Japanese characters from Win98-J with HPLaser Jet driver (Japanese version). Workaround: Install the driver that comeswith the Japanese Windows 98 installation CD. Or go into printer properties, choose details tab, choosespool settings, choose "print directly to printer option". (Bugs86989,130083)

Windows:If you have WinME-Ja, you may not be able to print to a HP LaserJet5Si/5Si MX using the HP LaserJet 5Si/5Si MX PS printer driver In this case, you should change the driver to HP LaserJet 5Si/MX.Or go into printer properties, choose details tab, choose spool settings, choose "print directly to printer option". (Bugs86989,130083)

HPIJS is HP's universal printer driver for most of their non-PostScript printers. It comes as a part of HPLIP, HP Linux Imaging and Printing. The supplied PPDs are provided by OpenPrinting.org and include PPDs for printers made by HP and printers made by other manufacturers. HP does not provide support for any non-HP printer.

I'm working on a virtual USB bus driver for MacOSX (Windows already running) connected via network with a linux box. It works fine under 10.6 and 10.7 with a mass storage device and HID devices like mice or keyboards.

PS: Looks a little bit odd to me that under 10.7 so many HID objects are on top of the driver stack. After kextunload (with failure "..VirDevice has 1 instance") they seem still alive. But this in 100% the same a local plugged and unplugged Logitech mouse. 2ff7e9595c
