Down South Hustlers Zip

In the midst of Atlanta's crunk era, Pastor Troy offered one of Southern hip-hop's strongest spiritual offerings. By the time his voice has become a yell on "Vica Versa," it's hard to tell up from down. The song, which imagines heaven and hell have swapped, is an impassioned look at life (and what comes afterwards) that will rattle even the most optimistic listener. In the midst of it all, an adaptable Pastor Troy remains undaunted. "I have no fear / I done witnessed too much hell right here," he raps.

The running joke in North Carolina is that when you are born, the hospitals play Petey Pablo's "Raise Up" so you know all of the words before your first birthday. The 2001 record from the fresh Jive records signee Petey Pablo reflected the new boisterous sound of Southern hip-hop that was on the way. Pablo became the first rapper to make it out of the state, with Little Brother, Rhapsody, J. Cole and DaBaby following down the line. An anthem of hometown pride, "Raise Up" lists almost 22 different regions and towns in North Carolina, none of them large or even well-known cities.

"Still Tippin" is the kind of song that needs to be broken down into its components to understand what a perfect storm it is: that glorious string production, that chopped-and-screwed hook, Slim Thug's gruff baritone voice, Mike Jones' impossibly catchy repetitions ("back then hoes didn't want me"), Paul Wall's ultra smooth drawl and flow. Every element is a compass pointing south, every line a possibility. Mike Jones converted his own words into another track as did Paul Wall and Slim Thug; "Magnificent 'bout his cash" nods to lesser known labelmate Magno who turned the lyric into a song of his own.

Since the emergence of Dirty South Rydaz, T-Town's signature group pulled together by George Lopez in response to the success of Rap-A-Lot and No Limit Records, Big Tuck has been the sole consistent member as the group evolved through the decades. In the city's hip-hop scene, Tuck's domineering voice remained prominent throughout the years for his trustworthy depictions of the lived experiences and feelings of Dallas' Southside: "Roll down the exit night it looks like Vegas / Small time bangers, that's what that is / If you ain't scheming you are making drug deals."

The twerking era of Southern rap was a good time on its own, but Jacki-O came through and made it sexy. Her breakout record "Pussy (Real Good)" was an ode to her lady parts that could moonlight as a feminist text, but its follow up, "Fine," which doubles down on the self-love with aplomb, is a party, and she is the center of attention. It lands like a sequel to her cunning appearance on Ying Yang Twins' "Salt Shaker" extended remix. This time, the brothers feature on the hook and in the verse to expressly contribute to erecting a musical monument to the Florida rapper; their "Jacki, Jacki, Jacki, Jacki" lives on through beauty maven Jackie Aina.

Secondly, it is also a world-class event center and nightclub featuring five affixed bars and crowned with a year round oasis of bliss on the rooftop. This area encourages the larger parties with room for nearly 1,200 visitors. Adorned by a relaxing cyclone of breezy curtains and cabaret-styled sofas, here you will find a comfortable escape from the action and address any special needs to suit the palette or the senses. Commandeering the elevator down from the roof, to the second floor, brings you to the VIP Bar and VIP Stage.

The tornado then moved out of Juneau County at 5:03 pm CST and moved east-northeast across southern Wood County. The storm hit a campground on the east shore of the Wisconsin River about three miles south of Nekoosa. Over 100 pine trees were snapped and uprooted on the campground, some two feet in diameter. Several camper vehicles were damaged by fallen trees. The tornado was seen by campground visitors just before 6:15 pm. The tornado continued east-northeast and snapped or uprooted hundreds of additional trees south of Wisconsin Rapids. The storm damaged at least six homes and several other outbuildings about six miles south-southeast of Wisconsin Rapids. One of the houses lost the entire roof of a garage). A woman in the garage at the time sustained injuries when the garage fell on the truck that she was taking shelter in. This area experienced high-end EF1 damage with winds at least 95 to 105 mph. Total damages across Wood County from this tornado were estimated to be$1.02 million.

The tornado entered Portage County from Wood County at 5:20 pm CST mainly over farmland. The twister continued to snap trees and overturn agricultural irrigation systems. About six miles south of Plover, a nearly half-mile long row of power poles were bent over. The tornado crossed Interstate 39 at Coddington Road two miles west of Keene. The tornado grew to nearly 700 yards wide as it passed just north of Keene and heavily damaged a farmstead. A silo was damaged and barn flattened. Several outbuildings were also damaged or destroyed. Along the path, at least two dozen irrigation systems were overturned and damaged (resulting in over $1 million in losses) and many hundreds of trees snapped or uprooted. This area also experienced high-end EF1 damage with winds of 100 to 110 mph. The tornado dissipated about nine miles southeast of Plover at about 5:46 pm CST. The average path width was 300 yards. Total damages across Portage County from this tornado were estimated to be $1.02 million.

The South began for me in Allendale, in the rural Lowcountry of South Carolina, set among twiggy fields of tufted white, the blown-open cotton bolls brightening the spindly bushes. In a lifetime of travel, I had seen very few places to compare with Allendale in its oddity; and approaching the town was just as bizarre. The road, much of it, was a divided highway, wider than many sections of the great north-south Interstate, Route 95, which is more like a tunnel than a road for the way it sluices cars south at great speed.

She put on a wide-brimmed black hat the size, it seemed, of a bicycle wheel, and a red capelike coat. Helping her down the stairs, I realized she was tiny and frail; but her mind was active, she spoke clearly, her memory was good, her bird-claw of a hand was in my grip.

The GiftAt the edge of County Road 16, ten miles south of Greensboro, an old white wooden building stood back from the road but commanded attention. It had recently been prettified and restored and was used as a community center.

At Hope Credit Union in Greenville, I met Sue Evans, and asked her about the local economy. She gave me helpful replies but when I changed the subject, talked about the musical history of the Delta, the blues, the clubs that had been numerous up and down the Delta, she became animated.

The Mechanic Shop (dark blue building at foot of Bowne Street) repairs all the other machinery: the 26 hustlers, the forklifts (two large ones that can also lift containers and 8-10 small units, a fleet with lift capacity from 400-30,000lbs), and a fleet of beater vehicles without license plates that zip around the port on errands.

There are so many decisions before today's buyers and sellers, but one thing is certain, people need somewhere to live, so an active real estate market isn't going anywhere. Decisions are on both sides of real estate: buy now, sell now, buy later, sell later, save more money, buy new construction since builders are offering huge incentives and buy downs, reduce price, or just sit. And another certain, I want to make sure you have before you, is that Jo & Co. will be here waiting for you. We will be your resource, no matter the temperature of the real estate market.

Bad: According to the chief economist for Realtor.com, as quoted in The New York Times, a borrower with a 10 percent down payment paying the national median sales price would pay nearly $1,000 per month more than in August 2021.

PULL BACK... Stocks suffered a down week as traders contemplated a slowing economy and hawkish comments from no less than six Fed officials who basically said we've still got a ways to go before rate hikes cease.

But positive news came when the October Producer Price Index reported 8.0% wholesale price inflation, down from 8.4% in September. Plus, October Retail Sales surprised with 1.3% growth after a flat read in September.

Equity capital went to bonds, raising prices, though the 30-year UMBS 5.5% ended down 0.08, at $100.14. In Freddie Mac's enhanced Primary Mortgage Market Survey, the national average 30-year fixed mortgage rate plunged 47 basis points (0.47%). Remember, mortgage rates can be extremely volatile, so check with your mortgage professional for up-to-the-minute information.

Housing Starts dipped 4.2% and Building Permits slipped 2.4% in October, but both declined less than expected. In the past year, starts and permits for single-families are down, but up for multi-unit homes.

My brother, after his adventurous lifein the mines, served his adopted Statein the Legislature and later settleddown, after graduation, to the practice[11]of medicine, a profession he seemed tohave a liking for from his boyhood. Atthis writing he is a citizen of Piedmont,California. He is hale and hearty andsays that in 1915, when the Panama Canalis opened, he is going to visit theStates again and bring his wife. Everyfoot of the route across the Isthmuswill be familiar, as he crossed it severaltimes, one time partly on foot, beforethe railroad was completed. 2ff7e9595c
